The Members and Committee gathered on the 10th October 2024 to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Wellington Shropshire u3a. We were joined by Brian Welti JP, the High Sheriff of Shropshire; Councellor Reg Snell, the Deputy Mayor of Wellington; Jean Jackson, the Regional trustee for the West Midlands u3a; Diane and John Parkin representing the Reverend Roger Dunlop, Minister of the Wellington Methodist Church and Mrs Barbara Murray the Church custodian. We were also pleased to invite the chairs of our Shropshire Network and several were able to join us. The afternoon tea of delicious sandwiches, cream scones and cakes was organised by our Treasurer, Linda Harris who also commissioned a special celebratory cake. All of the members joined in with the preparations, setting up or clearing away in true u3a style, making it an afternoon to remember.
